CAN-bus & Multiplex 1

The aim of this one-day multiplex & CAN-bus systems course is to provide an understanding of the fundamentals of these systems, starting from first principles.

The technician will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of oscilloscopes and meters for diagnostic use on modern multiplex & CAN-bus systems. The course will provide the technician with the necessary knowledge to test and diagnose these systems.

  • Introduction to multiplexing & CAN-bus
    Digital verses, analogue digital explained, networking explained
  • CAN network hardware
    Network terminology, CAN-bus and language, protocol explained, network priority, data examples, type of data
  • Diagnostics & CAN-bus
    Health & safety
  • Tools and equipment
    Multi-meters & CAN, oscilloscopes & CAN, code readers & CAN, repair of CAN lines
